House staff

Ushers are responsible for making sure CPA’s performance spaces are prepared to welcome guests, greeting all patrons, assisting with any seating or other customer service needs, and ensuring the safety of patrons throughout all performances. Hours will vary weekly according to the event schedule, but they will often include nighttime and weekend hours.

Employees must be available for a minimum of 15 hours/week. Candidates must be able to stand for shifts lasting 3-6 hours and be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.

Production staff

Production staff members work behind the scenes to set up, run and strike performances and events in every CPA venue. These are hands-on positions that work all hours of the day and night, but will often include daytime hours. All new staff members will begin as assistants, with basic training in audio, carpentry and lighting departments. Hours will vary weekly according to the event schedule.

Employees must be willing to work 20 hours/week, be able to lift and carry 40 pounds and be comfortable with heights.

Scheduling Coordinator

The Production Department coordinates 80+ events annually, supported by a staff of up to 50 part-time student employees, both with unique scheduling needs. This position develops weekly schedules for the Production student staff using industry-specific softwares, designating the correct number of appropriately qualified student staff to fulfill roles and skillsets for specific projects and work shifts as identified by the Production Managers. They will also evaluate time off requests, assist with substitute staffing assignments when needed, and aid in record-keeping duties related to student staff hiring, training and promotion. 

Must demonstrate the ability to learn new technical systems quickly and to work independently with moderate or limited supervision.

Ticket Services

Sales Associates process ticketing orders in person, over the phone, and assist patrons in completing online ticket orders as well as provide general customer service to all patrons and visitors. Employees must be available for a minimum of 15 hours/week.
