7:30 PM

Tickets from $10–$62. See details below.

For more than three decades, Jean-Yves Thibaudet has performed worldwide, recorded more than 50 albums, and built a reputation as one of the world’s finest pianists. From the start of his career, he has delighted in music beyond the standard repertoire, from jazz to opera. His global friendships have led to a multitude of spontaneous and fruitful collaborations in film, fashion, and visual art.

Thibaudet’s recording catalogue has received two Grammy nominations, the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, the Diapason d’Or, the Choc du Monde de la Musique, the Edison Prize and Gramophone awards. His most recent album, 2021’s Carte Blanche,” features a collection of deeply personal solo piano pieces never before recorded by the pianist. His playing can be heard in many films, including “The French Dispatch,” “Pride and Prejudice,” “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close,” “Wakefield,” and “Atonement.” His concert wardrobe is designed by Dame Vivienne Westwood.

Now, he brings his talents to Carolina’s own Memorial Hall, where he will perform the complete Debussy Préludes, Books I and II.

“He’s a master colorist and a great communicator, able to reduce a large concert hall to an intimate chamber of intent listeners.”
