Venue Rental Update
We have reached out to affected partners directly, and we are publicly posting here so that we are fully transparent with our process in this difficult time as we all build back from COVID-19.
As we reopen our venues, we are collectively piecing back together performances, residencies and other commitments that were disrupted over the last two+ years. While we celebrate now being on this path to repair and recovery, we are still facing challenges. The spring schedule is unusually full due to our artist commitments that were rescheduled following pandemic-related venue closures. As a result, we are facing the difficult situation that we are unable to accommodate any additional rental events for the fall 2022 and spring 2023 semesters.
This is a very difficult decision and not one we are taking easily. Our partners across campus are vital to the mission of Carolina Performing Arts and to the vibrancy of creativity on this campus. We are already deep in planning processes to ensure the 23/24 season includes intentional and collaborative partnerships with student performing groups across campus that we value so highly.
I am available to discuss this situation with anyone who would like to reach out.
